The reason for not drying the epoxy and hardener mixture
When working with epoxy resin, we may face the following problems:
The things that we must follow to avoid these problems are:
- Compliance with the correct mixing ratio:
Resin not drying can be due to the lack of hardener in the system.
- The presence of water or moisture in the system:
The epoxy resin mixing container is not completely dry, or the working surface or the air is humid
- Epoxy and hardener are not well mixed
- Temperature control
The air temperature should not be less than 10 degrees and the surface temperature should not be less than 5 degrees Celsius because the reaction of epoxy and hardener stops at low temperature and
The resin will not dry; too hot air can interfere with the drying of epoxy resin, the maximum air temperature for application can be 50 degrees Celsius.
- Surface contamination
Contamination of the work surface, such as the presence of grease and dust, interferes with the drying of the epoxy resin.
